Robot Construction

Well, the time you have been waiting for is here. At last, we start building robots.
You will construct the robots following a set of diagrams made with a CAD program. CAD means Computer Assisted Design. There are no written directions, just the pictures which can be confusing until you are used to it.
Once you have put the robot together, then you have to program it. Programming is where you tell the robot what to do. We use the Lego RoboLab program to do this. It is fairly easy once you have learned what the icons do. After you write the program you must down load it into the robot.
Now it is time to test the robot and make sure that it preforms the actions the way it is supposed to. If it does you were successful, if it doesn't then you must troubleshoot the problem. Troubleshooting is where you carefully check each step of your robot to find out why it is not working correctly. First, you check to make sure all the parts are in the right place and are working correctly. If that doesn't solve the problems you must double check your programming. The problem will either be a part not working correctly for some reason or the program is not written correctly.
