Gears and Wheels

Now that you know the basics for programming, its time to do some investigating. If you change the set up for your robot, then how will your robot change its performance?Once the three instruction sheets are finished, you are going to change Tankbot into Racebot by removing the Caterpillar treads and putting on wheels. Then we are going to experiment by changing the gear combinations.
The important thing to know when we change the gear combinations is the gear ratio. The gear ratio compares the number of teeth on the gear connected to the motor to the number of teeth on the gear connected to the axle. Ratios in Math behave a lot like fractions so they can be simplified. When you have a low gear ratio where the first number is small and the second number is high the robot will move slowly but can pull a lot of weight. When you have a high gear ratio the robot has a hard time starting, eventually moves fast, but can't pull much weight. This is just like a standard transmission in a car or truck.
We are going to do two different experiments. First, you are going to change the gear ratios around and see what happens. Then, you are going to change your wheels around to see what happens. There are five different types of rubber wheels and five different plastic ones in the kits. you are going to experiment and see which ones work the best on the front of the robot and which ones work the best on the back of the robot. After we do the two experiments we will have races to see whose robot is the fastest!!

bueno pues a mi me gusto mucho estar programando el robot porque me hustaba cada donde teniamos que piner las piezas,claro me gustaba los movimientos ke hacia.

esta semana estubimos trabajando con tmaster y tambien con los robot y arealizar distintas actividades con los robot y tanpoco no me gusto que algunos trabajos nos salieran mal.

esta semana me gusto como pudimos armar el robot y como hacer que se mueva en las primeras clases si se medificulto por que casi no entendia pero despues lo entendi y asi ya no tube problemas.

ami me gusto de esta semana fue como aprendimos hacer el robot y como hicimos que funcionara y eso megusto por que aprendi atrar y conocer mas amis companeros
